2008 Pharmacy Access Information
Senior Care Plus has contracted with Catalyst Rx beginning January 1, 2008 to be our Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Catalyst Rx has made every effort to contract with as many pharmacies as are willing to provide medications to our members. Catalyst Rx is dedicated to making the use of prescription drugs safer and more affordable for our members and over 3.5 million other members located in all 50 states.
Senior Care Plus members can fill their prescriptions at any of the 53,000 national, regional, and local chains and independent pharmacies across the country or through Catalyst Rx fully-integrated mail order services. Touch-tone and online refill service is available 24 hours a day seven days a week, and licensed pharmacists are on hand to answer questions. Catalyst Rx processes millions of retail prescriptions and mail prescriptions each year, and electronically checks each member's prescription to enhance safety, verify eligibility, ensure proper payment and identify savings opportunities.
The Catalyst Rx Help Desk provides toll-free pharmacy and customer service 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. There are fully-integrated service centers located in Maryland, Nevada, and North Carolina that are staffed with licensed pharmacy technicians and experienced customer service representatives. The Catalyst Rx Help Desk is available to answer questions about your drug benefit plan, pharmacy network, claims history and claims processing, and will provide on-line pharmacy and eligibility assistance.
Catalyst Rx works closely with Senior Care Plus to make your prescription-drug benefit more affordable. They assist with benefit design, patient-care management and encouraging the use of generic drugs. As you can see, Senior Care Plus and Catalyst Rx have made every effort to provide you with pharmacy access in our area that equals, if not exceeds, Medicare requirements. In addition, covered Medicare Part D drugs are available at out-of-network pharmacies in special circumstances including illness while traveling outside of Senior Care Plus's service area where there is no network pharmacy.
